Jessner Chemical Peel
The Jessner Peel can be used to correct a variety of skin conditions including:
- evening of the skin tone, skin lightening and lightening areas of hyperpigmentation
- treat acne and acne scars
- treat photo-damaged and aged, sun damaged skin
Jessner peels achieve a more thorough peel than Alpha Hydroxy Acid peels and are appropriate for patients requiring deeper peeling. Jessner’s Peels have the ability to significantly accelerate the skin rejuvenation process. The results can be quite dramatic, especially for people suffering from acne and pigmentation problems.
How it works:
The Jessner peel should be applied by experienced peel users only. This solution is applied with light, gentle strokes onto the skin and should be layered. A mild stinging sensation may be felt for several minutes after application. Jessner peels can be applied every two to three weeks until desired results are achieved. The peel procedure can be alternated between Jessner and other solutions, such as alpha hydroxy acid peels, for optimal results.
Jessner’s peels work in 3 ways ...
- Jessner’s peels cause the top layers of skin to flake off. These top layers of skin are the most sun-damaged, wrinkled, unattractive layers of skin. After they are removed, the new, fresh, younger looking skin underneath is revealed and brought to the surface.
- Jessner’s peels reactivate other skin care treatments. Over time, the top layers of skin can become resistant to exfoliation treatments and moisturizing treatments. When the top skin layers are stripped away with a Jessner’s peel, the treatments become effective again because now they reach new skin that has not developed a resistance to them.
- Jessner’s peels stimulate the deeper, dermis level of skin and cause new fibroblasts and collagen to develop, puffing out the lines and wrinkles caused by aging. Jesser’s peel is a progressive treatment that will not produce the final result after one peel.
